Kitten :D
« on: November 02, 2010, 04:47:53 PM »
This is my kitten BattleFluffy.  :>

She is about 4 months old, and I am teaching her to use the human toilet.  We are currently on Stage 4 and the second (and will be the last) bag of cat litter.  It's going really well!  Although we did have quite a few accidents along the way..

Whoa, what a cat! I’m sure she can be a really dangerous cat. 17 years ago a black cat lived at my place for a lot time and gave birth to one generation of cats, and boy was she “playful”. Lots of HP :-D

Looks like an enhanced catling: high seed, great health, and strrrrrrrongggggg. Congratulations on your new flatmate. Will she have be able to go out?

Thanks for sharing, and I’ll tell my two cats about her :D

<edit>

Oh, and would you pls care to tell about the human toilet training? Do you know whether old (7 + 8 yrs) cats can also learn this?

She is A BEAUTY!!!   8)

I used to have black cats, too. Still miss them, but can't have any where I live now...  :(

Aaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...

She's cute! Though I'm struggling to wrap my head around how she can get on the toilet seat without falling in... And does she remember to flush afterwards, or does she just wait for you to discover it for yourself? :P

Btw, did you actually call her 'BattleFluffy'? 'Cos it just seems it would be a bit awkward to try and call her to you when you have guests...   ;)

Apparently there is even an example of a 10 year old cat that was able to learn.  It's definitely harder when they are older though.
Another interesting example I heard about is "Lucky", the three-legged cat, who apparently manages to avail himself quite well despite his handicap.. :>

Cats can balance really well.  They are naturally agile and a sturdy toilet seat is absolutely no problem to balance on.  :>  Although, you do have to wait until they are about 3 months old before you start, because prior to that kittens are still a bit unsteady, and crucially, small enough to possibly disappear down the u-bend if they were to fall in.

Some cats do learn how to flush as well, and then they tend to do it constantly!  They do it over and over and over because they like the noise and the swirly water patterns.  In the USA where you actually get a bill for the amount of water you use, there are stories of people receiving $800 water bills because while they are out at work during the day, the cat was just constantly flushing the toilet!

As for Fluffy specifically, in theory she just leaves it and we find it later on (it's a good thing water covers smells really well!)
But in practice Fluf seems to like it best when she has some company, so we normally hear a lot of mjauing and scratching around from her when she needs to go.  heh.

How many thing did she fall off before she got used to all the jumps? My cat kept mis-judging things when she was first here and would either hit the wall/floor/bed/whatever she was aiming for about a foot too low or go sailing over the top. Other than that, Awwwwwwwwwwww....'Tis a
bee-yootifull poosytatt!

That's a really cute kitten!

My partner and I rescued a kitten (6 months) from the street recently. Here she is sleeping with her paw on the keyboard. Emma has named her Paws.

So far since 16 August she has been spayed, half-vaccinated, and treated for cystitis at a total cost of £350 not including food and toys etc. But she's great. Trouble is we can't keep her due to the cat hair which upsets Emma's sense of order so we're looking for a home for her.

Hehe, my face is out there in various guises, sometimes with other Kremers household animals. (We have 4 pets)
