cant load game on win 7

as u can see i cant start the game on win 7

i tried updating my drivers to the latest(wich they where) installed directx(again) let steam install that program that came with it as well yet still wont start

same goes for the demo from the website

just to add windows 7 uses Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 Redistributable Package wich is prob the reason it isnt working

seems i get the same on a fresh install of win xp where all i did was install my vid card drivers directx and framework 1.1 2.0 3.0 and 3.5 and the file that came with the install so clearly i must be missing something

iirc, it uses .NET Framework 2.x. You could just install that as well - you can have multiple .NET installations on the same machine and they won't trample on each other.

win 7 cant install any other framework as it tells me to install it via the turn on/off windows fuction thing but there isnt a option there and windows tech support tells me the same

and i have 2.0 on the xp as said yet still wont run

ya thats the strange part i have everything i can think off i would need if only my gaming pc dint have to get formatted i might have had it working on xp(that thing was so buggy that even after a error like that ud just keep the error open restart the game itl work(stupid bugs)) but get the same on my laptop that i use for work

btw the error is 725(or something near it) on the end pre dating 3.5 and 4.0 and after installing 3.5(and later on 4.0) its the one u see there

I could not recreate it in virtual machine.

I'll install W7 on a real box next morning (this evening is fully occupied for me).

Just so you guys know, I'm on Windows 7 32-bit release candidate (7600 I think) via steam and it works fine. I think that windows 7 might not be your problem? I made no special effort to install any dotnet distribs, but other games may have done so (Braid if I remember correctly?).
