Favorite food at lunch or dinner
« on: May 14, 2009, 07:46:10 PM »
I wanna talk to you about what is your favorite food. So, what do you love to eat for lunch or dinner?
I'd like to know how different the peoples taste is all over the world.

One of my favorites is Schnitzel and French Fries. What else for a german guy? :D

Aww... so delicious.

I also love to eat Döner / Kebab. In my opinion this is the best fast food. Its not as fat as the McDonals or Burger King stuff (which I also like to eat twice a month) and it is quite healthy because of the salad.

(Pictures belong to google picture search)

Btw. my taste is not representive for germans (besides the Schnitzel). :D

And what about you? Tell me about your favorite food.

Hey Thanks AriesT. I never knew what a... schnitzel was.

My favorite food is... rice, salad, beef and chicken. What else for a Chinese?

Spring roll would be nice too. Though I have to ask you, what do you guys use to post the pictures in a forum? :X

If you wanna use an image from the internet, just click on the second button with the small picture in it and paste the URL between the tags.
Or just put the link between [ img ][ /img ] . It's the same, so it doesn't matter.

Beware of hotlinking. It is always better to rehost the images at tinypic or photobucket for example. Some sites will bar hotlinking and even replace the image with something very unpleasant when you do it.

For lunch I generally have a cheese ploughman's sandwich these days, or a cheese salad with mayonnaise. But if I had my way I would probably have Malaysian food a lot, roti canai, nasi lemak or something like that. For dinner I try to eat lighter these days, so a small portion of curry or chilli con carne or something is good. Or some maki rolls if we have made any.

Please show us some photos.
I actually do not know those meals.  :o

Btw. have you seen such a big Schnitzel yet?

And guess what. This picture is 4 years old now. The Schnitzel (one Schnitzel, many Schnitzel) even became bigger since then. In our restaurant, you can order in 4 sizes. Medium - L - XL - XXL. I got L on this picture. XXL means 3 (!) Schnitzel of this size. Its ridiculous but sooo funny if someone orders this and has to stop after 1 1/2 of them. :D
Big "Schadenfreude".

Oh uh, Schnitzel is made of Pig haunch. It is very soft and mellow. For those, who do not know what a Schnitzel is. :)

i will get the recipe now (just to ask my dad, cause im 12 years old)

okay got i will translate it(a bit rough but i will do my best)

ingredients: 2 spoons of oil.
1 head of onion
1 HOT pepper
350g (now i dont know this how to translate)tomato's in that small box you know(that fluid of it,italians will recognise it,since they use it too for making spagghetis)
1 now i dont know this one
800 g of fish (from a lake,i forgot to say)

we serbians also like to eat schnitzel with fries(yummy i admit),spaghettis, hamburgers and pizzas of course(but im one of the rare people that likes to eat more fish than pigs and so)

Oh killy, please don't spam. Use the Modify-button to update your posts, plz. Its better to have one big post than 4 small ones.

No, the XXL size contains 3 Schnitzel of that size in my picture. Next month, the restaurants cook will bake a MEGA-Schnitzel, like in these "biggest meals on earth" reports in TV, but for a good purpose.

Hm... what else is native german food? Lemme think. Oh, yeah! Bratkartoffeln (baked potato pieces) for example but not the deep frozen ones and of course - ya all know it - German Bratwurst. Sauerkraut is also well-known in other countries.

I really like pseudo-curry (the sauce you get from jars), couldn't say what my favourite is though.

As for indigenous food all that Scotland seems to have is food made from leftovers & the parts of animals you wouldn't eat unless you were desperate. As for the rest of the UK there's several hundred varieties of cheese, and that's about it.
