Graphic settings difference?
« on: November 17, 2012, 05:20:49 PM »
How different between each graphics option?

In Eufloria classic, the graphic should be "Normal" in Eufloria HD, i guess.

But currently, I'm playing on "High" graphics which I don't think it different from "Normal"...

Any idea about how it's different, will each options have something to add after release?

We'll probably try and tidy these options up. We mainly needed these options for Android.

High Density - for retina displays. Adjusts the UI and certain other elements for high density displays.

Level of Detail - suggest Normal/High on PC/Mac/Linux; on Android Very Low/Low/Normal. It's a little bit of a misnomer. It affects when graphical elements change from blobs/icons to actual seedlings/trees. High isn't better than Normal, is just different and heavier on rendering. For gameplay purposes Normal may be preferable for some people. The Artsy setting isn't really useful unless I change a few more things so I'll probably just remove it next time.

The best way to see the difference is to try Very Low and then try Artsy. Then zoom in and zoom out.

Quality - Low vs High. Not a great deal of visual difference but low can help reduce overdraw significantly on mobile devices. This primarily affects asteroid edges and zoomed out seedling visuals.

High will give a lower frame rate, low will give a higher FPS rate :)
