Can I ask if anyone is having problems completing level 8?

Yes! Level 8 ('fight or flight') is either massively difficult compared to the rest, or else there's a bug somewhere.

I completed most of the first 7 levels in one or two goes each. Level 8 I've been hammering at dozens of times and barely get anywhere.

Is level 8 as tricky on the non-iPad versions? Most of the walkthroughs I've seen dismiss it as nothing to worry about.

Yes, this map is very hard in the new gamemode on the PC version. In the classic, it was very easy.

We have submitted a fix for this. Relaxed mode is bugged so it is at times harder than challenging mode, and level 8 is too hard in general.

IIRC I managed to win this level at 2nd try (NOT in relaxed mode).
