Things that please your eyes
« on: December 13, 2011, 03:53:46 PM »
Recently spotted a spectacular speedpaint artist channel. Couldn't stop watching it until the last video stopped. Watching a creation process driven by talented hands is, ..well.., hyphotizing.

And what your eyes are pleased with?

You never get involved in a pig fight. If you do, three things happen: you get dirty, you get tired, and only the pig has fun.

"That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!"

For some reason, as soon as I read freddyhard's post I though of Kiwi!, even without watching it. Hm.

Cute haired potato (so we call kiwifruits).
Everything for a dream, huh? Does long, calm and boring life rate over intensive, dream-fullfilling yet short one? My current answer - it does. Chidren indeed dramatically change approach to such matters...

Sweet. If you date someone who had been previously divorced - pay attention. He/she could be left alone for a reason ;D

Also, a russian proverb:
лучше синица в руке, чем журавль в небе
Google's translator transformed it like this:
better a bird in the hand than two in the bush
Hm. Must be pretty correct, but there's something more to add.
So literally it says: "A tit in the hand is better than a crane in the sky". And I'm speaking of birds now, not anything else! tit, crane (despite "anything else"'s deeper context fitting)

Interesting!

In German it is: Besser ein Spatz in der Hand als eine Taube auf dem Dach. (There exist a few grammatical variations)—“Better a sparrow in the hand than a dove on the roof.”

Cool. Never thought of proverbs this way before.
Brief search led to this.
You know what? I was being able to pick the straight russian analogues for all but two proverbs on this page. Maybe I just don't know or forgot them.
I am absolutely sure that more detailed comparison lists can be found if searched properly. Philological study obviously couldn't miss that.

People must've been trading goods for as long as the whole civilization exists. And it seems so that not all traded wealth can be touched by hand.

Hm. Never knew much about mr. Python besides 'Monthy Python's meaning of life' old game. But feelings that this clip raised are telling me that I probably should take an effort...

one of favourite clips so far

Whoa, like a hot steaming iron rolling down the hill. Guy obviously forgot to have a cup of his favourite Gummiberry Juice. Also, "QWOP" in the comments made my day totally.
If I were him, I'd not even use hands. Belly bumper FTW.

Seems slightly offtopic
, it's more about ears. But still...

Not in a sober state, mind you!
Tori is much easier to be made running, but still hard as hell.

Lol. Shame on me. My own reaction reminded me heavily of Idiocracy movie characters.
