AI Challenge

http://aichallenge.org/

Just thought that as there's quite a few AIs around on here, there might be some interest in this too. I may well be entering under Pilchard123, though I may enter a team with a couple of guys from college. Be interesting to see how people here do if they enter.

Have you got a Python interpreter installed? If so, what version/versions? I had this problem myself.

interpreter?

I have Python 2.7 64 bit... Then added it to the environment varibales and things started tlo actually work instead of just shutting down. It's only when I test my own AI, which hasn't even been changed, it crashes.

Oh, Dunno then.

Have you run make.cmd? Have you tried the IRC channel?

I may well have solved your problem.

Open the tutorial.cmd file in Notepad or something like that.
Delete the contents.
Copy this in to tutorial.cmd . It's the Java version of tutorial.cmd.

python tools/playgame.py "java -jar MyBot.jar" "python tools/sample_bots/python/HunterBot.py" --map_file tools/maps/example/tutorial1.map --log_dir game_logs --turns 60 --scenario --food none --player_seed 7 --verbose -e

Does that work? To see the java versions of the tutorials, you have to first click on the Java tab above the code boxes.

I have copied and pasted in the java stuff, did it from the beginning. This is so frustrating, cause I wanna make an awesome AI, but can't -.-

How long until it ends?
I'm a bit busy for now, but sounds like a interesting challenge... I'm going to try to find some free-time this week, to start the most basic functions ^^

Thanks for sharing ;)

18th December. It's only been open since 20th December.

There's going to be one later on though, I think. There's been two before, so there'll probably be one again.

Nice...

I have been observing some AI's playing and while they use some obvious tactics , they're extremely well implemented... May start sooner than expected :P
I wonder if there's, a not so obvious tactic...

The current tactics, beyond the food collecting, seems to wait around a hill, until it's not defended, to destroy it... Apart from that, the ants when in sufficient number, gather together to go berserk over other ants...
