diablo 3

...pity that they made it an online ONLY game. even if you are playing single player. their arguments seem feeble (stop cheaters when they go online) when it seems in reality of getting more money from the public. especially since you can buy & sell magic items for REAL cash - legal tender type stuff. if i wanted to swap legal tender online i'd just play online poker. >:(

Well, in their defense, it seems to actually be a trend...So many steam games, using the same system... That's why I, now-a-days only play arcade games and the occasional Quake/Wolfenstein ^^.
Also, because they're cross-plataform :-P, and I am rarely on windows.

But it's truly sad, from dust, from what I've heard, while they first said that a permanent internet connection to play the game, when it was released, well... a lot of players were disappointed. Steam offered the option to return the game, but I've heard that Ubisoft is going to patch out the need for internet connection, due to too many complains.

Either way, it's astonishing the DRM's they're proposing now-a-days. It's an outrage, really.
For example, in music, Sony, back in '06, started to place rootkits in CD's, to control DRM violation(For those, who don't know what rootkits are, let's just say, you don't want one in your PC, unless you're the one who put it there, because it's a huge security risk). iTunes FairPlay DRM, works by making ridiculous restrictions. Both DRM's were already terminated by their companies, because they realized they were ridiculous( or/and because, they didn't stand a chance, against rippers, really... ).

Hey, I understand the use of DRM, to a certain extent(although, I am against (Yes, really :-P) ), and I don't mind not having more than 3 installs at the same time(shame on the games, that only allowed 3 TOTAL installs), but that's it. I will rip music to make mixes, I will rip e-books, so I can read them on my supportless phone, and I shouldn't be discriminated for that, especially since I pay for them...

Either way, it's legal in EU :-P.

oh yes - i remember dialing up my friends PC (modem to modem) to play Q2, back in... don't really remember when, let's say 99. i didn't mind connecting to authorise ½life2, but i stayed offline since. i have 2 PC's that i use for work type stuff (CAD, 3ds max and photoslop), but i don't have any firewalls or antivirus on them. so they are not connected to the interweb. this rules out diablo3 for me. i was going to buy it regardless if it was seede or not. maybe some of you youngen's can tell me how fab it is when it's released and i'll just sit here and reminisce to diablo. :(

While I don't particular like any Blizzard game(from at least before '09), they are indeed masterpieces. WoW is the most played game ever in history, and both Starcraft/Diablo are considered one of the best games of their genre(Yes, Warcraft is polished as well).
While I never played any game of the Diablo series, nor I will play Diablo III, by induction, I believe it will be at the very least a pretty damn good game.

Are DRM's enough problem, to not to play the game? Unfortunately , the answer is yes. But hey, if you sure you will never reach one of the limitations, and you want the game, why not buy it?
