I wonder why it’s not been mentioned here, but this may perhaps be THE incentive for friends to purchase Eufloria: http://store.steampowered.com/news/5877/ (Probably only valid 2011-07-22).

I guess it would be nice to spread this … for A&R and for us all here.

Greetings, Tom

(I wonder how my overly subtle embedded command works ;D)

You know what they say Pilchard.... if something's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.  :>

There are actually a few share-/donationwares where I have done exactly this. Have seen too many “small” developers go down the drain, so I’d rather pay a little more in order to keep ’em alive and happy. That’s also why I’m not so sure whether it’s a good idea of A&R to offer free crossgrading, once the Mac version comes. Eufloria staying alive is definitely more worth to me than $10 or 15, even though I think it’s been almost half a year since I last played … b/c it means I have to fire up Windows in that virtual machine. I can’t stand the pain ;D

I have bought GlumBuster several times to support the developer. It is a truly wonderful and unique game, but hte website is sooooooo baaaad and he is not very good at mpromoting the game, so it remains obscure:

Regarding free crossgrading (Never heard that term before) between Pc/Mac.. thing is, we promised a mac versin waaaay back in the day, and it seems mean for people who have stuck with us all this time to expect them to pay twice for the same game.

From a business point of view it is defensible as well, as an initial push of people playing the mac port will basically act as a marketing wave, showing as many people as possible what this crazy game is all about, and it will be shown by many people who already know the game, thus showing off things they like. :-D

The first argument, the ethical one, seems enough to me though. I suspect our Mac sales will be more than healthy anyway, as the mac community is not well served with decent indie games.
