Imma be offline more for a while, since my current game rig is being temperamental (horrible boot times, won't find my modem). Any help would be apprecialted to fix it, though don't feel you have to.
Basically, I was plaing Minecraft online, skypeing a couple of friends. My internet connection dropped out (the cable's been loose for a while, but doesn't really cause an issue futher than annoyance), and my computer crashed. I hard-reset it (power down by holding power button on stack), and then rebooted. After taking about five minutes at the welcome screen, it then went to a black screen with a mouse cursor. After loooooong while in this state, it finishes loading my desktop. When I try to connect to the 'net, a message comes up "Zoom ADSL cannot be found". Reinstalling the modem doesn't work, and unplugging it results in the dreaded bluescreen. An aquaintance at college says it sounds like hard drive damage. I use Vista (home premium, I think). Scans with Malwarebytes free and MSE came up negative.
Any ideas?
