My cousin (the one that helped me optimise the Parallax engine, among other things) works for Sony...

Stumbled across this forum after having no luck with this level...it truly is impossible...the enemies move to whichever planet you're trying to setup on too fast. if you land on a planet that has a defence tree...you'll expend all but 2-5 of your seedlings trying to take it...and then you're screwed, because after about a min the enemy seedlings move back.

Hope you guys fix this soon.

Use the easier game mode. It's...easier, I suppose.

Good one :D

Yes, it’s definitely easier in the “classic” game mode, it is WINNABLE there.

@abs: The option to switch game modes is in the options menu of 2.07.

I've spent the last two days trying to beat this level but to no avail. So I went looking for some help and found this string.  I don't want a cheat; just a way to get through this level. From previous replies, it seems a fix has been put in place, but I can't get passed it. I've tried everything. Any advice would be great!!

I the options menu (I think), there is an option to change game mode. Switch on classic mode, and it might be easier.

Yep, tried that too; changd to "relaxed" but still impossible.  I tried a half dozen time and they kill me every time. If I build up the far asteroid and wit till I have an army, they kill me before I can get out. Or, the plant defense trees  on the adjacent asteroid and I can't get out. If I make it to the other side to "find friends", I'm so weak they kill me. I'm about ready to quit.  I've beat all the skirmish levels and have played dark mode almost up to this level.

In the very beginning, do not plant any trees right away. Prepare to send your seedlings to the attacking asteroid the INSTANT you see them move toward your asteroid. AS SOON AS you capture the new asteroid, IMMEDIATELY send ONE seedling to the outer asteroid containing your reinforcements. AS SOON AS you reveal the new seedlings, send them to your other asteroid as reinforcement. Depending on how quickly you have moved so far, the scripting behavior seems to be less predictable from this point forward.

My success at this level follows this basic strategy:

Try to keep a minimum of 25 seedlings available at all times to attack an unoccupied asteroid, building Dyson trees when possible on your strongest asteroid (in order to create the strongest seedling force possible). If you have a flower, plant it on the strongest asteroid to build enhanced seedlings- I wouldn't waste time on Defensive trees on this level. Be patient. Allow the other factions to attack each other and become weaker in number. If they abandon an asteroid and you have enough seedlings, attempt to take over the abandoned asteroid. They will be too busy attacking the other asteroid to defend the one they just left- but you must be quick. AS SOON AS you capture another asteroid, send a SINGLE seedling to the newly-reachable outer asteroid to reveal your additional reinforcements. Don't waste seedlings building trees on the weaker, outer asteroids. Always be prepared to retreat if necessary, and re-attack if the opportunity arises. Since you start out so weak, every seedling is precious. If one of your asteroids is under attack by a superior force, and you have retreated, remember that it is still generating seedlings until it is captured. Keep dragging the newly-born seedlings away to safety as long as you can.

Eventually, with just a little luck, you can avoid being wiped out long enough to build up an undefeatable seedling army. Gaining access to the reinforcements in the perimeter asteroids is crucial. If you find yourself isolated and weak-in-number on an outer asteroid, just quit and start over.

Thank you.  Ive tried 8 times so far and have gotten to the far  asteriod once, got some help but they swooped in and kicked my ass and put up defense trees. For some reason this level is kicking my ass every time. I've played every day for a week with same results. No other level has been this difficult. I guess I'll keep trying

Okay, I'm done.  I've been playing this same level for a week now. Something's not right about this.  I've beat all the skirmish areas on Challenging difficulty and Dark Matter Mode on Challenging difficulty through level 17.  I hear you tell me this has been fixed, but I sure can't tell.  I really like this game, but I'm giving it a thumbs down because of this.

So sorry about the spike. I will post a guide soon and we have made it a bit easier on iOS. This will get to PC as well.
