Title: Little Inferno
Post by: Milieu on November 21, 2012, 09:09:22 AM
Just finished this on the Wii U - totally fantastic stuff! Some of the best morbid humor I've experienced in a game in a long time. Sort of like a cross between Tim Schafer's sense of humor with early Tim Burton aesthetics, but even that is shortchanging it.

Basically you have a fireplace, and you burn things. Over and over. What is not to love?

Anyone else played this?

Is it bad that I've never even heard of it?

And what is the Wii U like?

It's a new digital only title made for the Wii U launch by the same three-man team that made World Of Goo.

As for the system - I've only got Nintendoland, the new Super Mario Bros game and Little Inferno, but the system handles beautifully. Really exciting to have the tablet as a controller and all the dynamic possibilities presented with having two independent screens in a multiplayer environment.

Also, I'm super excited for all the new titles coming - a new Zelda game, new Animal Crossing, and I'm still hoping for a sequel to Okami. Can only imagine how amazing that could be with the touch screen tablet.

Oh, it's from Kyle Gray. I hadn't twigged. He's busy travelling the world with his wife - I met up with them in London.

Now that's a good way to write a game - while travelling.

Kyle Gabler was WoG - the other two guys aren't (well, not specifically). Kyle Gray did Henry Hatsworth.

Ron Carmel was the other main WoG guy and I don't think he's part of this, at least not part of the company.

How's the 5GB update working out for you? Did it take up a bunch of memory or was that part of the story just anti-hype?

Alex, didn't know all the specifics, just heard it through a friend! Thanks for clarifying that.
